Mission and Vision
It's our mission to create a reliable network of dealerships and workshops who in turn can count on our professionalism and dedication. By supporting these businesses we aim to put as many people on motorbikes as we can. This way everybody is able to share in the feeling of freedom, exitement and adventure that is the motorcycling experience.
The Roots
Roelof Schiltmans (picture right) had been commercial director at Motorhuis Safe in Rotterdam and later the Euro Motorcycles Group nv that was formed from a group motor cycle shops in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain.
Motorhuis Safe also had various whole sale activities such as: Motorama which imported MQP, Arai and PNO parts. Safe Tweewieler Import (STI) bv by distributing Aprilia. DNL was distributing Ducati and then there was the Motor Trading Company (MTC) bv.
Motor Trading Company
Within Motorhuis Safe a wholesale activity had arisen in the 70 ties when the Japanese brand had overstock situations in the Netherlands.
In the end of 80 ties the Motorcycle Trading Company bv was founded under the management of Robert van de Nadort (picture left), as a huge demand new for cruisers bikes developed and those were available in great quantities in the USA.
Around 1990 this even expanded to used bikes as the motorcycle market became booming in the Netherlands. Thousands of Honda Shadows, Kawasaki Vulcans, Suzuki Intruders and Yamaha Viragos were shipped in double layered containers.
The start of Double R
Double R started with Double R Trading which was founded by Roelof Schiltmans and Robert van de Nadort in 1996. Originally only motorcycles were bought and sold but rather quickly selling motorcylce parts also became a part of the portfolio of Double R. In time the parts trade became so succesfull that it was necessary for it to become it's own entity in 2017. This became Double R Parts. In 2022 Karsten van de Nadort took over the reins from his Father. He makes sure the company is in capable hands.
From the beginning Double R has worked with several partners from the official network in such a way that mutual interests are respected and protected. The two R's in Double R are in part inspired by the names of the founders of the company but they also stand for "Reliable Relation". This is a core value of Double R and means that we want to be a trustworthy partner in a long lasting business relationship. To this day many partners from the early days of double R or even earlier are still succesfully doing business with us.
